Coaching in Hell

Coaching in Hell

Right,
We had to do it.
No fucking choice.
Shit !
We couldn’t just avoid the whole thing.
Of course not !
We had to talk about it.
Damn’ !
This bloody thing.
Enigmatic and mysterious.
To paraphrase Spinal Tap’s best song :”No one knows what it was or if it worked”
Provoking hilarity, indifference and suspicion.
And all at the same time !
Yes,
This thing.
Coaching !

I have a Love/Hate relationship with coaching
It would be so simple to just take a stand once for all.
But no.
The ambivalence is still here.
Merde !
Coaching made such a difference in my life.
Such an impact.
That’s undeniable.
It helped me when I was at the lowest point.
When everything seemed just fucking lost, stuck in this horrible place.
Believe me, it was bad !
The coaching process worked for me, no question.
And I have so much respect for the principle, the techniques, and theory behind.
But at the same time, I am repelled by the tricky marketing involved, the disingenuous ultra-positive image/speech coaches will tend to use, the constant smiles, the lack of serious governance and regulation of the profession, the cuckoos, the incompetents, the self-proclaimed coaches with no training, no background and no recognized certifications, some of the business methods employed similar to a Ponzi Scheme…
It is fucking embarrassing.
I can only recognize Tim’s bravery to call himself a “Life Coach”.
Oh yes, that as well…
“Life Coach”
This ridiculous, confusing and arrogant name.
Anyhow, I am not sure this podcast will help “coaching” whatsoever.
But that’s the best we can do…
Enjoy.
